World Day of Prayer Broadcast
Some pupils in 4th class took part in the World Day of Prayer service which will be broadcast on RTE television on Sunday 28th Feb. Well done to the children who took part in the recording and many thanks to the parents who helped with the driving!

We’re delighted to announce that the school has been awarded our first green flag. The flag will be awarded at a special ceremony in Croke Park on 2nd March. Four representatives from the school will attend. We hope to have our own flag raising ceremony in the school. More details to follow. Many thanks to Miss. Mullock, Miss Meredith and the children and parents who worked so hard as part of the Green Schools Committee. Well done everyone!

Absences
If your child is absent from school for any reason, please let us know on the morning of the first day of the absence. A quick phonecall or email (rpnsoffice@gmail.com) is sufficient. When your child returns to school please send a note as usual for our records.
Staff
As you will be aware, we lost a teacher last year when the government raised the pupil-teacher ratio. However, under the revised programme for government some schools had their teachers restored if they were only one or two pupils short of the retention figures. We have been one of the lucky schools and are currently recruiting a new teacher to replace the teacher we lost last year. We hope that the new teacher will start in the school after Easter. More news to follow.
Swine Flu Vaccinations
The HSE will carry out vaccinations against H1N1 flu (swine flu) on Monday 8th March 2010. Consent forms have been sent to all families. If your child has already been vaccinated indicate this on the form and return the form to the school.
